Holi, the festival of colours is celebrated at the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season, on the last full moon day of the lunar month Phalguna (February/ March).
At Vaishnavi, students enact the scene of Holika Dahan – marking the end of evil and also the end of an annual cycle of Nature. Students enjoy throwing coloured water on each other. The environment friendly Vaishnavi’s prepare their own natural colours from beetroot, spinach, turmeric etc. and do not use any harmful chemical colors available in the market. Children play to their hearts’ content pouring coloured water on each other and dancing to the exciting ‘Holi’ tunes.
