Eid-UI-Fitr, popularly known as the “Festival of the Breaking of the Fast”, occurs as soon as the new moon is sighted at the end of the month of fasting, namely Ramadan – the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This festival prepares the devout for self-examination – taking him/her closer to God. An interaction with the local ‘Moulvi’ enlightens the students about Prophet Muhammed (pbup) and his teachings in the holy Book of Quran. The day culminates with a traditional ‘Iftar’ party on the campus.
